Florida Bahia grass can get away from you fast in the summer. We keep paddocks and open acreage cut on a regular schedule so pastures stay healthy, weeds stay down and your horses have good grazing.
What's included
- Tractor rotary cutting (bushhogging) of paddocks and open pasture
- Finish mowing around barns, arenas and gate areas where you want a cleaner look
- Mowing that keeps weeds like dogfennel from setting seed
- Notes on problem plants we spot, such as creeping indigo, which is toxic to horses
- Working around turnout schedules so horses are out of the way
- A D-Portal report after every visit with arrival and departure times and photos
Why a schedule matters in Marion County
Bahia grows quickly from late spring through early fall, so most farms need mowing about every two weeks in summer. In the drier winter months, once a month is often enough.
Regular cutting keeps pastures even, helps desirable grasses compete with weeds, and makes it easier to spot holes, debris and fence problems before they become a risk to your horses.
See every visit, from anywhere
After each visit you get a report in D-Portal, our client portal. It shows GPS-confirmed arrival and departure times, the checklist, notes, and photos of anything that needs attention, pinned to your farm map.

Common Questions
How often should I mow my horse pasture?
Most Marion County pastures need cutting about every two weeks during the summer growing season and about once a month in the dry winter months. We set the schedule with you during the walkthrough.
Do I need to be there when you mow?
No. Many owners are at work or out of town. Gate codes and access notes are kept in your private D-Portal account, and you get a report with photos when the visit is done.
What if the pasture is badly overgrown?
Heavily overgrown pasture, thick brush, wet ground or hidden debris take longer to cut. We will tell you what we see at the walkthrough, and extra time may be billed as described in our pricing terms.
